Make a Beaded Tassel

Choose the appropriate size bead cap. Wash your hands before starting, to keep thread clean. STEP 1.Tie an overhand knot in the end of the silk furthest from the needle.

STEP 2.Thread one of the larger beads.

STEP 3.Thread small beads for a tassel strand; for example, we have used 21 x 3mm Swarovski bicones.

STEP 4.Tie an overhand knot in the silk thread and place over jewellery wire, or over a wire wrapped loop, depending how you want your tassel to be attached and used.

STEP 5.Using first your fingers then the pin, slide the knot down to sit next to the last bead. (Pearl Tweezers will help to tighten the knot and if you drop the knot off the pin they will also help you to replace/open it).

STEP 6.Thread the remaining small beads and another of the larger beads, finish with an over hand knot drawn down to pearl, cut silk thread 2cm from larger bead and repeat until tassel has 8 "tails”.

STEP 7.Fix knots in silk thread with clear nail polish (use two coats) when dry, trim.
